When the wetlands are doing EXACTLY what they’re supposed to do, it makes for some pretty poor exploring. But! We wouldn’t have it any other way. Back in December, our attempt to hike around the Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve was foiled by a rainy week. It still made for some beautiful pictures though!

On another gorgeous mid-autumn day, we made a trip up to Camas, Washington to explore the Lacamas Creek Park. What we found was nothing short of spectacular!
Two sets of waterfalls (Woodburn and Potholes), a lake, a bridge, and a beautiful scenery!

We drove out to the trailhead (through North Cascade National Park) on a leap of faith that we would be met with decent air quality and weather. Needless to say, it was a perfect day.

This wasn’t the vacation we had planned for months ago, BUT it’s the vacation we lived and we couldn’t complain.
Our trip to the North Cascades National Park was hindered only by the smoke and air quality. We arrived while the wildfires were raging in the west, so we kept most of our adventures light. First stop: the Trail of the Cedars.
