Continue readingTake me back to Jackson Hole. Is that a Garth Brooks song? I feel like it should be, and I would play it on repeat, along with our preview video on our YouTube channel.

For all of my outdoorsy folks, who enjoy a lovely vista and smaller crowds, this is 100% the National Park for you!
Continue readingI can hear you now. Another July hike, Lynette? Yes. Another one. Spoiler alert: there’s even MORE on the way!

The video for Cape Lookout is posted on our YouTube channel, as well!
Continue readingFirst off, if you received a post about Kauai in your inbox last Sunday-ish, I’m so sorry! An inexplicable WordPress gremlin managed to post that one again. Ugh. Technology some days. Okay, onto the real fun for today!
Maybe it’s obvious from our previous trips to Warrior Rock or Cape Disappointment, but there’s something I can’t help but appreciate when it comes to lighthouses.

You can watch the video from our Cape Blanco adventure HERE!
Continue readingWe hiked to the top of another mountain in Oregon! This time, it was 1,756 feet high and there wasn’t any snow. Just take in that view from the top.

In fairness, based on our research, that hasn’t been the view for very long, but we are SO glad it is now. You can watch the video from our hike up to the top here.
Continue readingYes, this may be about “camping,” but it’s really about the beach.

And the food. But we’ll get there! You can watch our hike out to the beach in the video HERE.

This was the view from our “front porch” for a couple of days.
Continue readingSometimes a simple hike is all you need in life. I’ll go ahead and trademark that quote right now. I’m sure there’s some paperwork involved, but if you see this quote on the interwebs, I’m guessing they got it from this moment. Right here. Orrrrr maybe I’m not the first person to type it. But I feel like it. Too much tangent? Okay, I’ll stop. The fact remains: sometimes a simple hike is all you need in life.

The Sol Duc Falls (aka Soleduck Falls) hike, just happens to be the inspiration for my new Pinterestingly, Instagrammable quote (insert all appropriate hashtags here). PS. You can watch the video of our hike HERE!
Continue readingThe old adage is to do one thing every day that scares you. During our hike up TDH (I cannot keep writing it out. Sorry not sorry), I did that thing, for a couple of hours straight. Hiking in snow scares the you know what out of me. But let’s be real, the payoff was worth it.

Want to watch the video? You can check it out on our YouTube Channel!
PS. The video is mostly of the initial hike up to the Mirror Lake area…things got a little weird with our GoPro after we started up TDH (hence why the video is called the Mirror Lake Trail).
Continue readingWow. These falls are epic, and the name is epically redundant! Once we got to them, the falls were RIGHT THERE. And flowing quickly!

Psssst. You can watch the video of our hike HERE!
